My coming out story

I share my personal journey and coming out story and what it was like stepping into my sexual identity.

 

So many of us live for others, including myself at one point.

There is no destination to finding yourself. There are no wrong choices. We are waking up to who we are all the time.

• Vulnerability is a gift we have that is a signal to ourselves, helping us see who we are
• Struggle and self doubt are part of the space between who we are becoming and what we are experiencing
• There's a space in transformation where we can feel insecure about the next steps 
• Know that there is always someone who has been where you are now
• I remember having knowings that I was attracted to the same sex when I was young
• I didn’t see same sex relationships and thought there was something wrong with me
• I would stick up for gay people when derrogatory comments were made
• Art was my outlet for my sensitive spirit to shine through creativity
• I didn’t even share my sexuality with my close friends
• I believe that the planet is evolving to not define sexuality
• I did get married and shut down any other possibilities
• Insecurities are resistances to places where we fear judgment that let others define us
• Finding out I’d been lied to by someone close made me question who I give my power to
• When the structure and security we keep ourselves in is shattered, we are in an abyss
• This event made me look at my truth and sparked my coming out journey
• It all comes back to taking responsibility for how we show up in our life and living in our authentic truth
• Coming out started internally followed by conversations with family and friends
• I was nervous when I told my mom first and she was so accepting
• My parents invited my girlfriend and I over for dinner and it was amazing
• When I old my young children, they told me they loved me and it’s okay to be gay
• So many of the limitations were my own
• Your life changes on a mental and physical level when you step into authenticity
• When we live knowing the only constant is change, there is unlimited possibility
• Take something you have a limitation around and ask if the limitation is true
• Open to possibilities if you were to move past the fear, like me with dancing
• Your limitless state gives you access to who you are without insecurities
